For a while now, been toying with the idea of ditching the stock SS setup on my YXZ and going full manual. I know, I know, the paddle shifters are fun and all, but there's just something about rowing through the gears myself that's calling to me. Has anyone here actually done the SS to manual swap cos I'd love to hear how much of a headache it was (or wasn't), what parts you needed, and whether the payoff was worth it and yeah also any "wish I knew this before" tips would also be good. I;m thinking of doing this over winter, so I've got time to plan it out right.

Wish I knew that buying a donor YXZ manual for parts or swapping the entire assembles can actually save time than piecing it out. My god. You're gonna need a lot, a full clutch pedal assembly, the cylinders, lines etc.For a while now, been toying with the idea of ditching the stock SS setup on my YXZ and going full manual. It's doable but don't think it's just a simple plug and play. if you're gonna tear it down, just make sure you label everything. Yeah, me too. I value my sweet time so I try to learn everything at once and be my own mechanic but yeah... swapping the entire thing is better, since eventually it's gonna end up replaced too.
