Maintenance on YXZ1000R

so...just wanted to start a conversation about maintenance on the yamaha YXZ1000R. I'm using a 2021 SS model and learning that regular upkeep is important if we want these machines to stay reliable especially with how hard they like to be pushed, so cos of that I've been pretty consistent with oil and diff changes, but I'm kinda interested in knowing what others do, does anyone have any specific hacks or something for the XYZ

besides changin fluids regularly, you need to check and adjust the clutch operation and other key components. so that you'll always have the motorcycle in its best condition

Hahaha that's a good call since these rigs love maintenance. You have to do regular greasing on the suspension points by the way, apart from trans & diff oil. Also clean off dust from the intake. Then bearings, they do wear quick. Bring it to the mechanic regularly for a check.

One thing I always do is swap out the coolant more often than the manual suggests, just to keep temps in check and a little trick I picked up: using a high quality air filter oil and cleaning your airbox seals thoroughly can save you headaches with dirt getting where it shouldn't

One little trick is to zip tie a small magnetic drain plug tool to my box and it saves from hot fluid spills and dropped plugs, start using a washable air filter and add an outerwear pre filter to keep the dust down
